The day I joined (Narcissistic) Alcoholics Anonymous (N)AA was the day I released my poweful addiction to the sound of my voice, and my Self.

The following conversation was overheard at an AA meeting in St Louis, Misery and reported to us by **Forbes Nash. TRIGGER WARNING:* continue reading at your peril! The thoughts below are not for powderpuff eyes and ears. They have not yet been edited nor approved for public release by the thought police. The words below are not reflective of the opinions of AA, SongAA.org, or the stranger sitting next to you and secretly judging you for reading this drivel. You’ve been warned.*

“What flavor of A.A. are you? Are you GodAA or ChristAA?” I asked Him, offering my freshly opened pack of American Spirit cigarettes.

“Is there a difference?” he said.

“GodAA.org’s Higher Power is God, or karma, or The Universe, and ChristAA.org’s Higher Power is the Christian God, embodied by Jesus Christ their Savior. In both, our Higher Power, or God, speaks to Us, through the emotionally sober Group Of ex-Drunks (aka G.O.D) who we allow to whisper truth into our lives.”

“WOW, I wish someone had told me that 40 years ago!” I replied.

“What’s your name?”

“I’m **Dr Wyoming “Schmetterling” Nash,”** he replied.

“What kind of doctor?”

“I’m a doctor of the human psyche,” he replied with a smiled, “I help people like you release their addiction to themselves. I’m a co-founder of the St Louis Narcissists Anonymous chapter, and a former drug addict. Marijuana and mushrooms were my drugs of choice.”

“And now, you’re addicted to nicotine. Funny that the drug that’s more addictive than heroin is 100% legal in this country. So why do you smoke? I was writing about smoking today. Can I show you what I wrote?” I asked.

I handed him my notebook.
